Sony Electronics has announced that there will be two new additions to their E-mount interchangeable camera lens line: the FE 100mm F2.81 STF GM OSS Telephoto Prime Lens and the FE 85mm F1.8 Telephoto Prime Lens. Along with the two new lens, Sony has also announced a new compact radio-controlled flash: the HVL-F45RM.

Sony’s E-mount series has been popular among the public, and with the new features and designs presented in their new lineup of products, that popularity looks like it may continue.

Part of Sony's G Master lens line, the 100mm STF is a mid-telephoto, full-frame prime lens designed to create stunning bokeh while still maintaining a high standard of resolution. It does this with its newly designed 11-blade aperture and a unique apodization lens element that creates seamless transitions of in-focus and out-of-focus effects in pictures. The 100mm STF is also capable of up to 0.25X magnification with quick, precise and silent autofocus. This lens lends itself greatly to work in portrait, fashion, nature and wedding photography.

It also has a 9-blade circular aperture mechanism that ensures beautiful bokeh and a double linear motor for fast and accurate focusing.

Along with their two new lens, Sony also announced a new flash: the HVL-F45RM. This flash has been designed to complement the lenses in Sony’s E-mount series. The HVL-F45RM has been greatly reduced in weight and size compared to the HVL-F43M. This change will allow the flash to be easier to carry and more accessible. The new flash also offers built-in radio wireless control, making it into either a wireless radio commander or receiver in multi-flash setups. If the photographer chooses to make the lense into a commander, it can connect up to 15 compatible off-camera flash units or receivers in up to 5 groups. In regards to the flash’s battery life, the HVL-F45RM’s battery can live up to 210 bursts. The flash can also tilt 150-degrees vertically and turn 360-degrees horizontally.
